Recolor everything to one tone
Every visible pixel takes the colour you choose, while transparency is left alone. This is the right move for icons, silhouettes and logos that need to exist in a single brand colour — and it is the only one of the three that guarantees an exact hex across the whole image.
Swap one color, keep the rest
Name the colour you want gone and the colour that replaces it. A tolerance control decides how close a pixel has to be to count as a match, which is what lets it catch the soft anti-aliased edge around a shape instead of leaving a halo of the old colour behind.
Rotate the whole palette
A hue shift moves every colour around the wheel together. Shading, texture and highlights survive, so a photograph still looks like a photograph. Use this when you want a different mood rather than a specific colour.
