The gap between having a logo and having brand files

01

One file is never enough

A logo is a system, not a document. The header needs it transparent, the dark footer needs it white, the browser tab needs a 32-pixel square, the invoice needs it in one ink, and the social preview needs a 1200x630 card. Every one of those is a real request that arrives in your first month.

02

Afternoon work, not agency work

Producing the full set is genuinely tedious rather than genuinely hard. That is exactly the kind of job worth doing yourself early, when every euro is allocated and the answer is needed before the pitch on Thursday rather than after the next design sprint.

03

Re-editable, because the brand will change

Early-stage brands move. The colour shifts, the mark gets simplified, someone finally decides on the shade of blue. Edits are kept as adjustable layers rather than baked into the pixels, so regenerating the whole set from a revised master is a re-run, not a rebuild.

04

Everything grouped by what you are making

Favicon, OG image, app icon, pitch-deck mark, watermark, invoice logo, one-ink print version - they are all here, organised by the job rather than by the technique. Bookmark it and the next thing on the list is already covered.

05

It does not replace the person who made your mark

Paying someone to design the actual logo is usually money well spent, and this does not pretend otherwise. What it removes is the twenty derivative files that follow - the ones you would either pay for again or spend a weekend fighting an unfamiliar application to produce.

What catches early-stage teams out

The favicon is not a shrunk logo

A wordmark at 32 pixels is an unreadable smudge. Use the icon alone, or a single initial - decide this once and it is settled forever.

No OG image means a blank link preview

Without a 1200x630 card, every link to your site posted anywhere shows nothing. It is the cheapest credibility fix available.

Ask for the source file on day one

The vector master is easy to get while the designer still has the project open and awkward to chase eighteen months later.

From one logo to a launch-ready set

1

Upload your master logo

Start from the highest-resolution version you have - ideally the SVG or a large PNG. Editing and previewing are free with no signup.

2

Get a clean transparent base

Remove the background so the mark sits on any colour. Everything else is derived from this file.

3

Generate the colour variants

Make white for dark headers, black for one-ink print, and any brand-colour version you need. A couple of clicks each.

4

Export every size

Favicon sizes, web sizes and social sizes - the logo bundle writes thirteen files into one ZIP, each rendered from the master rather than resized from a smaller copy.

What founders need in the first month

The website and the favicon

Transparent PNG or SVG for the header, a white variant for the dark footer, and the favicon sizes browsers and phones actually request.

The link preview

A 1200x630 OG image, so the link you paste into Slack or X shows a card instead of a blank rectangle.

The pitch deck

Your mark on a dark title slide, partner logos treated consistently, and screenshots cleaned up so the deck looks like one document.

Invoices and documents

A black, one-ink version that survives a fax, a photocopier and a printer that is out of cyan.

Or just ask
