Why use this edit tool

01

Any radius you like

A single control sets the corner radius, from a barely-there softening to a full pill or circle. The image is clipped to a rounded rectangle so every curve is crisp and even. All four corners share the same radius, which keeps the result balanced and consistent across a whole set of images.

02

Transparent outside the curve

The space beyond the rounded corners is left fully transparent, not filled with white. That means your image sits naturally on any page, card, or coloured background without a visible box around it. The download is a PNG, which is the format that preserves that transparency wherever you place the image.

03

Live preview as you drag

Move the radius control and the corners round in real time, shown next to the original so you can compare. There is no render button and no waiting. You can nudge the value up and down until the curve matches your buttons, cards, or avatar frame exactly before you commit to a download.

04

How the clipping works

The tool draws a rounded-rectangle path on an HTML canvas and clips your image to it, so pixels inside the curve are kept and everything outside is discarded to transparency. The edge is anti-aliased, which gives a smooth curve rather than a jagged staircase, even at large radius values on high-resolution images.

05

Rounded corners vs cropping

Cropping removes parts of the picture to change its shape or framing. Rounding corners keeps the whole image and only softens the four sharp corners. If you want the same rectangle with a gentler outline, round the corners. If you need to cut the image down or change its aspect ratio, use the crop tool instead.

How to round the corners of an image

1

Upload your image

Drop in a PNG, JPG, WebP, or SVG, or click to browse. Your file is processed in the browser and is not uploaded anywhere to preview.

2

Set the radius

Drag the corner-radius control and watch the curve update live next to the original until the corners look exactly the way you want.

3

Preview and download

Check the result, then download a PNG. The corners outside the curve stay transparent so the image drops onto any background cleanly.

This has completely changed my workflow. I used to rebuild the same product colorways by hand every time the brand shifted — now it's one file I go back and re-edit.
