Blank Canvas

Generate an Empty Transparent PNG

Make a completely transparent PNG at any size — the blank canvas for a mock, a spacer, or a placeholder that shows nothing.

Why anyone needs a blank PNG

01

Genuinely empty

Every pixel has zero alpha. There is no white fill and no baked-in checkerboard — the checkered pattern you see in the preview is the page drawing it behind the result so you can tell transparent from white. The file itself contains nothing.

02

Exact dimensions

The point of a blank PNG is almost always its size: reserving a space, forcing a layout to a known height, matching an asset slot. Set the numbers here and leave the height at zero for a square.

03

Spacers and placeholders

A transparent PNG of a known size is still the reliable way to force spacing in email HTML, where CSS support is unpredictable. It is also the honest placeholder in a mock: it occupies the slot without pretending to be content.

04

A canvas to build on

Use it as a base to composite onto in another tool when you need an exact canvas size and do not want to crop or pad an existing image into shape.

05

Keep it PNG

Converting to JPG fills the whole thing with white and there is nothing else in the file, so you end up with a plain white rectangle. If it must be a JPG, use the solid colour generator instead.

Working with blank PNGs

The checkerboard is not in the file

It is drawn behind the result so you can tell transparent from white. The downloaded PNG contains nothing at all.

Never convert it to JPG

JPG has no alpha, so the whole thing flattens to white and you lose the only property it had.

Size is the whole point

A blank PNG exists for its dimensions. Set them deliberately rather than resizing one afterwards.

What people use it for

The jobs the editor was built around — and what it does differently on each one.

Colourways you can revisit

Every edit is a layer, not a bake. When the brand shifts, reopen the file and change the colour rather than rebuilding the variant from the original.

Cutouts with awkward edges

AI background removal that keeps hair, foliage and soft shadows instead of stamping a hard outline around them. The output is a transparent PNG, ready to place.

No export, edit, re-import loop

The Framer plugin runs on the canvas you are already working in, so a recolour or a cutout does not mean a round trip through a second application.

Ten options in the time one used to take

Recolour once and step through the alternatives, so a client review can look at the whole range instead of the one version there was time to make.

Brand colours matched exactly

Pick a colour straight off an existing asset and get the hex, rather than eyeballing it against a screenshot and hoping it is close enough.

Free to preview, priced per export

Previewing is unlimited and costs nothing. A credit is spent only when you download a full-resolution file, so exploring an idea is never the expensive part.
