When a seal needs paper behind it
Filled behind, not painted over
The colour is composited underneath the ink, so it appears only where the image is transparent. The seal itself is never covered, and its soft edges blend into the new colour rather than against a checkerboard.
The black rectangle problem
Plenty of systems render transparency as black. A transparent seal that looks right on your screen can arrive as a black block in an email client or an older document viewer, which is a conspicuous way for an official document to go wrong.
Portals that only take JPG
Many government and banking systems accept JPG alone, and JPG has no alpha channel. Converting a transparent seal straight to JPG lets the encoder choose the fill. Choosing it yourself means you know exactly what the reviewer will see.
Match the paper, not just white
Pure white suits a white page. If the seal will sit on a cream certificate or a tinted form, sample that colour instead — a near-miss is more noticeable than an obvious contrast, because the eye finds the rectangle edge immediately.

Only transparent pixels are filled. Width and height are unchanged, so the seal stays exactly where it was. Use Add Padding if you also want space around it.
