The same logo, in all the places it has to work

01

The printer asks for something specific

Sign makers, embroiderers and print shops routinely ask for a vector, a one-colour version, or the file at a size your phone photo of the sign cannot supply. Producing a clean black single-ink version and a high-resolution transparent PNG covers most of what they will ask for.

02

Photographs of your own work

Product shots, the finished job, the plate that came out well. Removing a cluttered background, straightening the colour so a set of photos looks like a set, and adding a discreet watermark before they go online are all a few clicks each.

03

Every profile crops differently

A directory listing wants a square, a review site wants a circle, a map listing wants something else again, and a wordmark shrinks to an unreadable smear in all of them. An icon-only square crop settles it once for every platform you are on.

04

Paying once instead of every month

Most design subscriptions assume you edit images weekly. If you need three files in March and nothing until September, credit packs that do not expire cost a fraction of a seat you would forget to cancel - and every tool is available regardless of what you have paid.

05

Looking consistent is most of looking established

The same mark, the same colours and the same treatment across the invoice, the van and the profile picture reads as a business that has its act together. That consistency is mechanical work, and mechanical work is exactly what this handles.

What print and signage suppliers wish you knew

A web logo cannot be enlarged for a sign

A 500-pixel file printed a metre wide is a metre of blur. Keep the largest original you have, and never work up from a website download.

One-ink jobs need a solid black version

Embroidery, stamps and single-colour printing cannot use gradients. Producing the flat black version yourself is faster than a round of emails.

A white box around the logo will print

If the background was flattened to white rather than removed, it shows as a rectangle on anything that is not white. Cut it out properly once.

Keep one folder, plainly named

logo-black-print.png, logo-white-transparent.png, logo-square-profile.png. Every future request becomes a thirty-second job.

Where small businesses use it

Invoices and paperwork

A black, one-colour version that stays legible through a photocopier, a fax and a printer running low on ink.

Signage and vehicle livery

High-resolution and single-colour files, in the formats a sign maker or wrapper will actually accept.

Photos of your work

Backgrounds removed, colours made consistent across a set, and a discreet watermark before anything goes online.

Listings and review profiles

Square, icon-only crops that stay readable at the tiny sizes directories and map listings display.
