How rotation works
The image is redrawn onto a larger canvas rotated around its center, and the tool measures the new bounding box so every corner fits. It runs in your browser on that canvas, so the file never leaves your device and the transform is instant.
Rotate vs flip
Rotation turns the image around its center by an angle you choose, keeping the content facing the same way. Flip mirrors it across an axis, reversing left and right or top and bottom. Use rotate to straighten or tilt, and flip to create a mirror image.
