Recolouring one colour in an icon
Surgical, not global
Only pixels matching the colour you name change. A two-colour icon can have one of them updated while the other stays put, which is what makes this right for theming rather than a blanket tint.
Icons match cleanly
Because icons are usually flat colour, a low tolerance around 15 catches the whole shape plus its anti-aliased edge. Photographs need far more; icons rarely do.
